Our Cause
Approximately 250,000 Americans are living with Pulmonary Fibrosis, a rare progressive disease that causes scarring in the lungs, resulting in restricted oxygen flow. It is always fatal. There is no cure, and treatments are limited. For the past fifteen years, Rochester families Chandler, Solimano, and Buono have hosted a golf tournament to raise money for Pulmonary Fibrosis research at the URMC Kottmann-Nagel Lab. Each family has lost loved ones due to this devastating disease.

“Six years ago, I was diagnosed with Pulmonary Fibrosis and have personally participated in the research being done at the URMC Kottmann-Nagel Lab. Because of their hard work, I have real hope for a cure. To show my gratitude, I have volunteered to continue the fundraising efforts of the Chandler, Solimano, and Buono families by hosting the “Laughter is the Best Medicine” fundraiser. All proceeds from this event will go directly to support Pulmonary Fibrosis research at the Kottmann-Nagel Lab.”
